Nothing brings a community together like a little music, good cheer, flowers, mickey mouse shaped balloons, and a magician! We were honoured to provide music for the first annual False creek event and it was the perfect way for HUM volunteers to spend a Saturday afternoon, celebrating community spirit.
Our first stop was Ten Ten Tapas, a quaint brunch spot with a beautiful view overlooking the water. Alvin serenaded a couple on the patio with a classic Sinatra medley and performed one of his original songs, The Pessimist, for the first time. Sounded quite optimistic, on the contrary!
Next stop, Tartine Bakery, packed full of delicious pastries and bustling with people enjoying an afternoon coffee.
And last, but certainly not least, a stellar performance at the main stage for the event. People grooved to the music and a little girl spun around in circles and danced as Alvin graced the audience with his charismatic guitar playing. We were lucky enough to have a videographer capture Alvin’s performance and we can’t wait to share it with all of you!
